On Thursday, January 27th we had as our guest speaker, Mr. Dan Barker of the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Dan helped bring us a record meeting attendance of about 85 people, which was about the legal capacity limit of the lunchroom where our meeting was conducted. Amongst other things, Dan discussed FFRF’s lawsuit regarding having the “National Day of Prayer” declared unconstitutional. He also carefully explained, in simple English, the technical legal terms, experiences, and strategies that they’ve been encountering along the way. His friendly manner always makes him a pleasure to hear. Both before and after the meeting, Dan conducted a book signing and many had the opportunity to speak with him one-on-one.
